(If you can't see the video, it's basically a one second clip of my daughter yelling STOOOOOP!!!!!!)
Is there a more annoying sound? I can actually feel my blood pressure rise and muscles clench when I hear it. I have an immediate urge to scream STOOOOOP!!!!!! saying STOOOOOP!!!!!!
Sibling rivalry does not take a Christmas vacation. They must be plotting ways to annoy each other...constantly. They all know which buttons to push and they never get tired of getting a reaction.
Thoughts that run through my head when I hear STOOOOOP!!!!!!
Why???!?
What. Are. They. Doing?????
Do they like getting in trouble??!?
Why can they not just mind their own business???!
If I have to get involved, it's not going to be pretty!!!!!
Why????!?
So if you're at home enjoying the sounds of sibling rivalry mixed in with When can we start opening presents? How come so and so has more presents than me under the tree? I just thought of something else I want for Christmas! Can I open just one present today? I felt the presents and I think I know what you got me. Know you're not alone. It's not Norman Rockwell, but it is Normal Everyday Life!
P.S. Video credits to my middle schooler who recorded that annoying exchange between his two younger sisters and then brought it to me so he could get them in trouble. I guess I forgot to add tattling to my list of unwelcome Christmas sounds! :)

hahaha! Mine finish school tomorrow at 1.30pm and I give it an hour until they are arguing....lol
ReplyDeleteAhhhh yes, STOOOOOOOOP! Usually followed by MOMMMMMMMM?!
ReplyDeleteYou're right siblings never have Christmas vacation - wishing you strength and loads of patience for the next few weeks. They'll be peaceful on Christmas right?!
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo
Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #Christmasbloghop)!
DeleteWishing you a lovely weekend and a Merry Christmas!

This is my life in a nutshell lol (along with the tattling) and yes it is the most annoying sound. I'm glad to know I'm not alone!!
ReplyDeleteSigh, yes, I know this sound all too well. This is when I miss my nice big house in NY where I couldn't hear them and had to go up to check on them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you're back to writing again. So many of your posts make me laugh out loud . . . and this post is one of them. My little ones officially start vacation tomorrow. Sigh. I'm hoping (and praying) for a somewhat peaceful vacation. We'll see :0)
ReplyDeleteSending great big hugs!

Oh yes, I feel your pain. It's like PTSD for Moms. Just yesterday I was yelling up the stairs, "Why can't you all just get along?" They are so burned out getting them ready for school is like torture, but come tonight when they have no homework and just each other for company it will begin anew. Good luck Marie!
ReplyDeleteOoh... good luck with sibling rivalry with all five of them! One daughter's still at uni, so it's quiet here for the time being. That won't last once she's home though.
ReplyDeleteStay sane hun x
This is so funny and so, so true. Now that my boys are older they don't annoy each other quite as much, but they still know how to push each other's buttons better than anyone. Good luck with the rest of Christmas break!
ReplyDeleteI recognize that sound! Why is it that all children say STOOOOPPP the same way to their siblings? And it cracks me up that the other sibling has now turned to digital tattling. What would Normal Rockwell say? Wishing you a little peace, and maybe even quiet, this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteListening to your video was like opening a time-capsule! Oh, I remember that sound. (It can still be heard in my house on occasion, but the voices are deeper and more grown-up now!!) Annoying now, for sure - but one day you will really treasure this post! Enjoy the season ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I know the voice.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter can be quite loud.
Not quite there yet with my girls, but I do remember being the one yelling STOOOOOP!!! just a decade ago. ;) Oh, how I wish all kids could be born mature so we don't have to hear their annoying sounds! Good luck over the break and take a breather every once in a while!
ReplyDeleteHahaha....I love how you included a video clip in here. This rules!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen mine have done this I march right up to them point a finger at them and then to their room. An hour later I ask them if they are DONE? They are, and life goes on. It doesn't happen to often now :)
ReplyDeleteOh no the dreaded "STOOOP!" I have two teenage daughters only 19 months apart and when I hear that I just want to scream! It is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Just listening to your video clip brought back my own tortured memories! Hahaha! Thanks for sharing on #MommyReality.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all a magical and memorable Christmas!
xx

I have to laugh at this! ha ha. "I felt the presents and I think I know what you got me." I'm sure my siblings and I used that on my poor mother too. :)
