Steve had been wanting us to get the NutriBullet for awhile. He had talked to several people at work that had one and he wanted to make smoothies. I pictured a big mess I'd end up cleaning up and more trips to the grocery store as he liquified all the fruits and vegetables in the house. I put it off for as long as possible. The downfall was that he was out shopping with me and put one in the cart just to think about. Well, we all know that things that go in the cart rarely go back on the shelf.
But guess who's ended up really liking it?!? Yours, truly. You see, I've had a yogurt with my breakfast just about every morning for the past 20 years.
Boring...right? I mean I did just recently switch to Greek to mix it up, but still. Who wouldn't rather have this?
Yum! Now I just put my yogurt, a little bit of milk, a few strawberries, and some ice in the NutriBullet and voila...it's a new and interesting concoction that's good for me, too!
There are a lot of other combinations/recipes you can make, too. Steve has put kale, apples, carrots, grapes, avocado, orange juice, and more in his smoothies and is loving them!
So today I stand corrected. I really do like the smoothie machine and it hasn't turned out to be as messy as I thought. And Steve is even going to grocery store for fruits and vegetables more often, so everyone wins!
How about you? Has your husband been right about anything lately? You can admit it here and it'll be our little secret!
I just got a bullet yesterday, had my first smoothie with it today and it is very easy and loved my smoothie. Here's to us enjoying it!!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It is very easy to operate and clean up!
DeleteLooks nice and compact! That's my fear with these smoothie makers - we essentially have a galley-kitchen, so space is a premium! And as for what hubby's been right about... Reluctantly I can confess it's the fake grass in our garden - no-one ever guesses it's not real, and it means zero mowing and maximum garden usage. I love it! Thanks for linking to #AllAboutYou
ReplyDeleteFake grass sounds wonderful! I hate yard work, so that's a dream!
DeleteMy brother has one and he absolutely loves it. I want to get one myself. yummy! I drink breakfast shakes because I just can't eat breakfast at 7am. That looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteI think you'd enjoy it. You could even make it up the night before and store it in the refrigerator!
DeleteMy husband has been wanting one of these forever! I've been hesitant because I figured it was one more thing that will clutter up the pantry and we won't use it. Looks like I'm wrong too! Your smoothie sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteIt's surprisingly compact! Maybe you can get your husband one for Father's Day! :)
DeleteWe are on a smoothie kick right now too! I got a Ninja blender for Christmas and was NOT excited about cleaning it or using it. It was my husband that got it out of the box and used the first time to make a smoothie...Now I'm hooked and don't mind cleaning it!
ReplyDeleteI think cleaning it was my biggest objection! Glad yours is working out well, too!:)
DeleteOh, I like the look of this! It's the cleaning that always puts me off... But I might be sold after this :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a lot smaller and easy to clean than I thought it would be!
DeleteI'm here to second you on the marvel that is the NutriBullet 900 Series...
ReplyDeleteScore one for BOTH of our hubs, as mine bought me one for Christmas this year, after he (no doubt) grew tired of me belly-aching about how my baby weight had taken up permanent residence on my thighs and arse.
I LOVE this thing. My go-to breakfast smoothie is something I've made up: rolled oats, fresh blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, ground flax seed, one packet of splenda, a splash of milk, water, and ice.
Even my son comes running when he hears the whir of this tiny machine!
(I even wrote about as one of my very first -- third, I think? -- blog posts, which you can find here:

Cheers!
Your recipe sounds fantastic! I'll have to try it and check out your NutriBullet post! :)
DeleteI'm waiting for the price to drop to about $60 for the Nutribullet. I know it will soon, either at Costco or at Walmart. I want it so much. I would love to drink some of my favorite shakes, with the fiber included! Thanks for linking up with Turn it Up Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI think it will drop in price. Ours was cheaper at Sam's Club than at Target, so I'm sure the other stores will be following soon!
DeleteSuzanne of Simply Suzannes at Home
ReplyDeleteI have something similar and love it!
Your drink looks quite delicious, Marie! Thanks for sharing :0)
Have a great week,
Suzanne
Thanks, Suzanne! Based on the other fabulous foods on your blog, I'm thinking you have some great smoothie recipes, too! :)
DeleteOh goodness don't let him hearing you say he was right! You will never hear the end of it! I will say though I bought a blender about a year ago with the intention of making smoothies for breakfast and you know what? I never took it out of the box! I really need to break that baby out so I can have some healthy breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI always feel like getting something new out of the box and reading the directions is half the battle! :)
DeleteI need one of these, I am getting into my smoothies and juicings, and this would be perfect. I like simple and fast and easy to clean up. Breakfast like these are my favorite I don't like a hearty meal until late afternoon. Thanks for sharing, I might have to pick one up when I visit my mother next month. And have it for my two month stay in the states with her and the kids. I love to add a bit of spinach or kale and frozen blueberries instead of ice. You can't taste the spinach or kale I promise and it so healthy for you. Thanks for linking up to Share With Me I am loving your posts each week. #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteI need to pick up some more spinach and kale. You can't taste it, but it does turn the smoothie green! :) hope you have fun on your vacation with your mom!
DeleteThat actually looks like a very exciting gadget. I always want to jump on the juicing bandwagon but the fear of the mess and needing time to tidy it up in a morning puts me off!!! But this does look like an idea!! #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteMess and clean up were my concerns, too. This one seems to be pretty easy to take care of so far!
DeleteI've been debating buying a NutriBullet, is it that much better/different to a normal blender? I can't work out if I've just bought into the hype! PS. My husband is always bloody right.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how it differs from a blender. I haven't ever used ours in 20 years. :) This is really easy to clean and store though! I laughed about your husband always being right!! :)
DeleteYou may have just convinced me to get one...we have been thinking about it. Thanks for sharing on the Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteWe always have smoothies if we feel bloated. Really helps in getting rid of that heavy feeling. Thanks for sharing this =) #sharewithme
ReplyDeleteI may have to look into one of these. My husband would love this!
ReplyDeleteOh looks good and also yum. I need to get on a bit of a health kick post both my babies! And as much as I loathe it? My husband often is right! Thanks for linking up to #AllAboutYou xxx
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks really yummy. I love the mix of yoghurt and fruit. I would NEVER admit that my husband is right, well done you!
ReplyDeleteOhh wow! That looks fantastic! I want one :) x
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves to buy kitchen gadgets but I really have no more work top space. Glad your smoothy maker is proving useful even if he was right.
ReplyDeleteStorage space doesn't seem to be a big concern for the men! :)
DeleteI have to give Kudos for your hubby to caring enough to want to get one of these. Put him to work in the kitchen! Thanks for linking up to the Be. YOU. tiful link party. Pinning!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I appreciate it! :)
DeleteWe have a smoothie maker and OH is definitely more into it than I am - making them and they're definitely not as messy as I thought they would be. Glad to see hubbie's converted you :) #magicmoments
ReplyDeleteThey are delicious! It's much better than I thought it'd be!
DeleteI need to get back into the habit of making smoothies. We have such frozen fruit in our freezer.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has been right about overextending myself recently. I need to take a step back and focus on less.
Thanks for linking up at Motivation Monday!
